After the 2002 TV series <Winter Sonata>, in which he starred, PARK Yong-ha found himself at the forefront of the Korean Wave boom in Japan. He debuted at a young age, and his acting ability has gradually improved through acting experience. After the huge success of <Winter Sonata>, he debuted as a singer in Japan and gained popularity in both Korea and Japan. A single he released in Japan made onto the Japan Oricon Chart, which was a first for a Korean male musician and marked his success in Japan. At the same time, he showed reliable acting skills and established a good image in Korea. After a five-year-long hiatus from Korea while he was working in Japan, he made a comeback in his home country with the TV series <On Air> in 2008, playing the part of a TV producer with a difficult personality, which endeared him to the public. In a movie about stock trading entitled <The Scam> in 2009, he made an indelible impression playing the role of a genius individual investor. In June 2010, he committed suicide by hanging himself, much to the shock of the show business industry in Korea and Japan.
