He worked at the stage until joined to film crew of Dream(Shin Sang-ok) in 1955. In 1956, he made his debut with Love in the Seaand continued to direct and produce 24 feature films and 26 non-fiction films. His best films include A Happy Businesswoman(1963) and The DMZ(1965).
