One of the most successful producers of the up-and-coming generation of movie producers, William KIM started out with a job at an advertisement agency. After working a few times on the promotion of movies, he took an interest in cinema and established his own multimedia entertainment and communication company Gamza in 1998. Starting with <When Brendan Met Trudy> (2000), he acquired the distribution rights of many foreign films that have both artistic merits and popular appeal, such as <Mulholland Drive> and <Apocalypse Now Redux>. He established Daisy Entertainment in 2005 and increased the number of foreign film imports. In 2008, he struck gold with <Let The Right One In> and established the distribution company Synergy to invest in Korean films, and by December 2010 this new company managed to rise into the top 8 most successful film distributors in the market, with <Goodbye Mom>, <Bestseller> and <He’s on Duty> among its best known releases. He later planned and produced <Mr. Idol> (2011) and <I am the King> (2012). As producing became his main activity, he made a name for himself with his work on <Inside Men> (2015), winning the Grand Bell Award for Best Planning. After rebranding his company Hive Media Corp, he scored another planning hit with the historical drama film <The Last Princess> (2016). He then planned and executive produced the surprise hit horror <GONJIAM: Haunted Asylum> (2018) and the adult comedy <What a Man Wants> (2018). Acting now exclusively as an executive producer, he has been responsible for the period dramas <Forbidden Dream> (2019) and <The Man Standing Next> (2020), as well as Summer 2020 hit <DELIVER US FROM EVIL> (2020).
