Following film studies at Kyungsung University, KIM Young-jo went on to study documentary film at Université Paris 8. His debut, the documentary <My Family Portrait>, premiered in 2007 and was introduced at various intentional events, such as the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival, the New Zealand Documentary Film Festival and the Marseille Documentary Film Festival upon its release in 2007. His next feautre, <Taebaek, Land Of Embers>, was invited to the Wide Angle competition of the Busan International Film Festival the following year. Remaining prolific, he released another feature in 2009, <A Fishbone In The Throat>. KIM’s next feature <The Hunt> was once again invited to the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival. In 2015, KIM earned a Special Mention of the Jury from Busan IFF’s Wide Angle section for his subsequent work <Still and All>. The film went on to screen at the Green Film Festival in Seoul.Less
