KIM Young-ae was recruited in 1971 during MBC’s 3rd Open Recruitment and made her debut with <Inspector Chief>. However, put her acting career on hold when she became the Vice President of Chamtowon in 2001. In 2006, she returned in the KBS2 drama <Hwang Jin Yi> as Baek-Moo, a character who seems strong but aches on the inside. In 2009, she worked together with CHOI Kang-hee in <Aeja>, and drew emotional responses as well as receiving the Best Actress in a Supporting Role Award at the Grand Bell Awards of that year. Later, she showed explosive charisma by acting as the entrepreneur KONG Soon-ho, a character who is cold even to her children, in the MBC drama <Royal Family>. KIM’s presence in theaters increased following her turn in the genre thriller <Confession of Murder> in 2012 and particularly after she drew praise for her part in the hit courtroom film <The Attorney> alongside SONG Kang-ho at the end of 2013. She next appeared in the ensemble drama <Cart>. Around the same time, KIM was also one of the leads in the indie family drama <Entangled>. The sophomore feature of LEE Don-ku, the film, which deals with a family reeling in the aftermath of an infant’s accidental death, debuted at the Busan International Film Festival.
