KIM Sun-a debuted through a cosmetics commercial in 1996. In 2003, she first appeared in <Wet Dreams> as a student teacher and left an impression. In 2005, she acted as the spinster KIM Sam-soon in the MBC drama <My Name Is Kim Sam-Soon> which not only recorded ratings of over 50% but also received the Grand Prize that year. In 2009, she moved on from her ‘KIM Sam-soon’ character and portrayed a proud woman challenging the major in <City Hall>. In 2011, she played the cancer patient LEE Yeon-jae in <Scent of a Woman> and released <Pitch High> later that year. KIM Sun-a is a talented and well-known star on both movie and television screens. KIM waited another two years to appear on screen again when she took on the leading role in the webcomic revenge thriller adaptation <The Fives>. Playing a handicapped character who lost everything, KIM presented a new side of herself in the film
