Born in 1986, SONG Ha-yoon first appeared in 2003 in the TV series <Sang Doo! Let’s Go to School>. This was quickly followed by a number of commercials, with one of them, in which she appeared alongside HYUN Bin, proving particularly popular among TV viewers. She later joined the extensive cast of high school sitcom <Nonstop 5>, where many of today’s stars have also debuted. She was first recognized for her performance in <Stray Cats> which was presented at the Busan International Film Festival in 2009 as well as her role in <Members of the Funeral>, which was invited to Berlin. She also landed major roles in <Fly High> (2009), <Helpless> (2011) and <Dangerously Excited> (2011) In 2012, frustrated with the fact she was still regularly cast as a child, she decided to substitute the stage name she had been using till then and now sounded too childish to her ears - KIM Byul - for Song Ha-yoon in order to mark her evolution toward more mature roles. The 2015 series <My Daughter, Geum Sa-wol> marked a turning point in her career as her character of a mentally challenged person, who was initially supposed to leave after a few episodes, eventually grew so popular among the audience that the screenplay was revised to allow her to stay until the end of the show. After notable appearances in the investigative journalism film <The Whistleblower> (2014) and the youth drama series <Fight for My Way> (2017), she proved the breadth of her acting range by starring in the sleeping hit <Intimate Strangers> (2018), a comedy particularly reliant on the delivery of its actors since most of the action takes place within the confines of a dining room.
