Born in 1982, Gim Mooyeol is a Sungkyungwan University graduate who debuted as a stage musical actor and later switched his focus to screen acting. After moving to television with a television film in the <Drama City> series. His first major film role came in 2009’s <The Scam>, followed by small roles in <Finding Mr. Destiny> from 2010 and <Romantic Heaven> in 2011. Later that same year he appeared in the phenomenally successful <War of the Arrows> in a major part, cementing his status as an up-and-coming actor. In 2012 he appeared in the sci-fi omnibus <Doomsday Book>, had an impressive role in the well-regarded <Eungyo> and starred in his first leading role for the low-budget <All Bark, No Bite>. Following some controversy after postponing his military service, Gim enlisted in October 2012 for his mandatory 21-month army stint. Gim’s first role after being discharged from his service was, appropriately enough, as one of the leads of the naval war drama <Northern Limit Line>. An account of North Korean ambush attack in 2002, it became a surprise success in the summer of 2015. Gim started to receive more leading role offers, with notably the period drama <WARRIORS OF THE DAWN> (2017), the thriller <Forgotten> (2017) and the crime action film <The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil> (2019). After he starred in <Intruder> (2019) as a widowed man who gets more and more suspicious of his sister who he has just been reunited with after she disappeared 25 years earlier, Gim was cast in the 2020 thriller <The Devil’s Deal>.
