He also invested in [KIM Ki-duk]s movies such as The Coast Guard and Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring and led overseas distribution of Korean films while importing numerous popular foreign films such as Hero, , and Chicago. After founding [SHOW EAST], KIM invested more aggressively in a more diverse array of films. His investment and production of a [PARK Chan-wook] film, Old Boy, led to winning the Grand Prix of the Jury at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival, the highest level of award for any Korean-made movies thus far. He also produced [KWAK Kyung-taek]s Champion and Mutt Boy, [KIM Ki-duk]s Samaritan Girl, and [RYOO Seung-wan]s Crying Fist. KIM also pioneered Koreas production of foreign films by investing in [Peter Chan]s Perhaps Love and [Chen Kaige]s Muji, The Promise and other films such as Lovers/House of Flying Daggers and Fearless.
