KIM was the fourth member of Shinhza to embark on a solo career as a singer and now splits his time between working as a singer and a screen actor. In feature films, KIM first appeared briefly in title <Emergency 19> before taking on the lead role in the youth action-thriller <Spin Kick> in 2004. It would be a while before he returned to the big screen, though he remained active on TV and as a singer, launching his debut album in 2007, and then enlisting for mandatory military service in 2008. He reached a new peak as a film actor in 2012, when he appeared in the disaster film <Deranged>, which became a smash hit in late summer. The role earned him the Most Popular Actor Prize from the 49th PaekSang Arts Awards the following spring. KIM next appeared in the youth indie title <One Way Trip>, which debuted at the Busan International Film Festival in 2015. The following year saw him appear in the sixth instillment on the human rights omnibus series <If You Were Me>, which premiered at the Jeonju International Film Festival in 2016.
