KWON Sang-woo became known to the film industry and audiences by taking on the title role in <Volcano High>, a high school action flick. KWON expanded his fame by appearing in a number of teen films. His genuine talent as an actor was well displayed when he performs real, life-like acting in <My Tutor Friend> with co-star [KIM Ha-neul]. He dashed across movie and television screens, which afforded him blockbuster success in terms of ticket sales and viewership ratings, respectively. He played Ji-hoon, a trouble-making high school student repeating his senior year. He received private tutoring from Su-wan ([KIM Ha-neul]), who happened to be the same age as he was. In Spirit of Jeet Keun Do - <Once Upon a Time in High School>, he played Hyun-soo, a shy Bruce LEE wannabe who later becomes the best fighter in the school. KWON has showed off his talents in portraying an attractive but rebellious teenage boy. Taking off the school uniform of his film characters, he rose to stardom for his lead role opposite [CHOI Ji-woo] in TV soap opera <Stairways to Heaven> and became one of the hottest hallyu stars. He starred in the title roles of several on-screen melodramas such as <Love So Divine>, <Almost Love>, and <More than Blue> as well as in male-bonding action films such as <Running Wild>, <Fate>, and <71: Into The Fire>. KWON’s starring role in 2011 was in <Pain> directed by [KWAK Kyung-taek], in which he was critically acclaimed for his portrayal of a tough guy with a pure heart. KWON is set to conquer China next with the release of his first Chinese film <Shadows of Love>. Though still a popular face on the small screen, KWON stepped away from Korean films for a few years to make Chinese titles <Shadows of Love> (2012) and <Chinese Zodiac> (2013) with Jackie CHAN. He returned to Korea for the Chuseok cop drama-thriller <The Accidental Detective>.
