After Receiving an MA from Chung-ang University in film studies, Jenna KU began her career at Indie Story in 1998, as the head of international distribution. She took charge of the distribution and marketing of Korean short films at the company, and worked at the New York based distributor Kino International as an intern in 2001. In 2003, KU moved to the production company, Angel Underground, and was involved in the development and financing of the horror, <Yoga School>, which was completed and theatrically distributed in 2009. Afterwards, KU worked as the manager of development at Korea Pictures and participated in the financing process of <The Duelist> (2005) and <Mission Sex Control> (2006). In the meantime, she also produced a few short films including <Sara Jeanne> (2004), which won the special mention at the Berlin International Film Festival. After working at Core Studio and Realise Pictures, KU developed and produced Director KIM Jung-hwan’s debut feature <Penny Pinchers> (2011) at Indie Story, which was financed and distributed by CJ E&M. In 2012, KU joined BOIM Pictures and has developed a drama based on the famous novel by Japanese writer, Miyuki MIYABE. More recently, KU produced two short films directed by acclaimed actress MOON So-ri, titled <The Actress> (2014) and <The Running Actress> (2015). KU also worked for various organizations in the content industry including KOCCA and PGK as project manager, as well as serving various film festivals as a jury member. She is also teaching film development and script planning courses at universities.
Less
