Tiger Cinema is the film production company of KIM Dong-ho, best known as the co-founder and first president of the Busan International Film Festival. It was founded in 2012, with Lotte Entertainment as its main shareholder, so as to financially support the production of graduation films at the film school of Dankook University, of which KIM is the dean. Its first release, <10 Minutes> (2013) was highly applauded by critics worldwide and achieved the rare feat of winning two FIPRESCI Awards (at the Busan International Film Festival and the Hong Kong International Film Festival), on top of the grand prizes from the Taipei Film Festival and the Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinemas. Released the following year, <End of Winter> (2014) also received many invites from international festivals, including Berlin and Hong Kong. <The Seeds of Violence> (2017), Tiger Cinema’s latest outing, won the Grand Prize at the Jeonju International Film Festival.
