  • KIM Bora’s Debut Maintains Awards Streak in Ukraine

KIM Bora’s feature debut House of Hummingbird (2018) continues to blaze a trail on the festival circuit after picking both the second placed Best Feature Film Award (with a USD 2,000 cash prize) and the FIPRESCI Prize at the recently concluded Kyiv Molodist International Film Festival in Ukraine.

PARK Ji-hu stars as a 14-year-old girl navigating a complicated family life in Seoul in 1994 as well as her own burgeoning romantic feelings. KIM Sae-byuk features as a new calligraphy teacher who begins to make a strong impression on the young girl.

House of Hummingbird debuted in the New Currents competition of the Busan International Film Festival last October, where it picked up a pair of prizes, before bowing internationally in the Generation section of the Berlin International Film Festival in February, where it picked up the Grand Prix for the Best Feature (Generation 14plus). Following that it has earned top honors from the Tribeca Film Festival, Istanbul Film Festival and the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, among a total of 14 prizes to date, received at far flung events such as the Beijing International Film Festival and the Cyprus Film Days International Film Festival.

The acclaimed drama is currently screening at the Seattle International Film Festival and will next screen at the Melbourne, Taipei and Fantasia International Film Festival.
