KAFA Held the 33rd Graduation Film Festival

Free Showing at the CGV ARTHOUSE Apgujeong from Jan. 20 to 22
Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA) held its 33rd Graduation Film Festival, KAFA33 at the CGV ARTHOUSE in Apgujeong from January 20th to 22nd. The festival screened 13 short films and animated short films produced by 33rd graduates of KAFA. After four films chosen through the evaluation opened the ceremony, four sections were showed three times a day on January 21st and 22nd.
KAFA has had more than 600 graduates in various fields including directing, filming, producing and animation since it was founded 34 years ago. Big helmers like BONG Joon-ho, CHOI Dong-hoon and KIM Tae-yong are from KAFA. In addition, KAFA recently has produced young directors such as JO Sung-hee, HUH Jung, UM Tae-hwa and LEE Hyun-ju, who have recently received attention from critics and audiences.
In 2016, one of the KAFA’s feature projects, LEE Hyun-ju’s Our Love Story (2016), drew over 20,000 viewers in more than 30 screens after winning the Grand Prize of Korean Competition at the Jeonju International Film Festival.
Meanwhile, Audience Award winners were Bonanza, Alone Together and Thirsty with the most votes.
