Partnership Strategy with Renowned Shopping Malls
Lotte shopping Lotte cinema Co., Ltd. has increased the number of its screens to 22 in Vietnam. The 20th and 21st theaters both opened on December 24th, last year, and the 22nd theater launched on December 30th.
Since entering Vietnam in 2008 for the first time for a Korean multiplex, Lotte cinema
has now launched 22 theaters with 99 screens across Vietnam.
Lotte cinema announces that they are promoting the Lotte cinema brand in Vietnam by co-entering the market with grocery stores and department stores, based on the operation know-hows from Korea. In other words, it is the strategy to launch the theater in a popular shopping mall to facilitate the audience to experience shopping and film-watching at one place.
These 3 newly added theaters are also placed in the Vincom shopping malls, a major shopping mall franchise in Vietnam. The Mỹ Bình Long Xuyên theater has opened in the Vincom shopping mall in Long Xuyên in southern Vietnam with 4 screens and 665 seats. The Việt Trì theater has opened on the 5th floor of the Vincom shopping mall in Việt Trì, in northern Vietnam, with 4 screens and 631 seats. The Hải Phòng theater is also placed in the Vincom shopping mall in Hải Phòng, in northern Vietnam, with 5 screens and 690 seats.
Lotte cinema expects these 3 new additions would make an opportunity for them to expand business all across Vietnam. Lotte cinema has 107 theaters with 743 screens in Korea as of December 2015, and abroad, 22 theaters in Vietnam and 10 in China.
