  • Stream Festival Programming on KoBiz Online Screening

The Jeonju International Film Festival (JIFF) marks the beginning of spring with its Festival dates from May 1st until May 10th. In partnership with Korean Film Council (KOFIC, Chairman: KIM Eui-suk), JIFF is happy to service the Industry Video Library once again for an easier access to Korean films for film industry professionals. The library will be available from May 2nd until 7th for film festival programmers, directors, and professionals.

Those interested in submitting their work to the Industry Video Library can do so by accessing KOFIC’s KoBiz website (www.kobiz.or.kr) to fill out an application. The submissions will be accepted starting March 27th until April 16th. Eligible works include any short or feature Korean films that were produced in the 2nd half of 2013 or later. If the film is still in production or post, you can still fill out an application if the project will wrap up by mid-April.

Along with the Industry Video Library, major programs at JIFF this year will be available through streaming starting on the first day of the Festival on KoBiz’s Online Screening. The service will be beneficial especially to those who are unable to attend the Festival this year in person. Korean Film Competition, Korean Short Film Competition, Jeonju Digital Project, and Korean Cinemascope sections are planned to be available through the Festival Screening of the online screening website (http://screening.koreanfilm.or.kr/). More detailed information will be available through a press release in the near future.

JIFF is one of the first festivals of the year in Korea to start the festival calendar, and its programming often receives much international attention. It launched in 2000 to the city of bibimbap (traditional Korean food) and hanok (traditional Korean village) and is now recognized as the festival that spotlight many important independent and alternative Asian cinemas. Industry Video Library and Industry Screenings have exclusively provided JIFF’s international guests including festival programmers and film professionals a comfortable and rich access to selected world premier screenings. By providing streaming access on KoBiz’s Online Screening, KOFIC and JIFF are further expanding the exposure of Korean films globally.
