FIP's Sanford Panitch says "We're looking for a script writer"
The Yellow Sea, directed by
NA Hong-jin and starring
HA Jung-woo and
KIM Yun-seok, is going to be re-made in Hollywood. The CEO of Fox International Production (PIF), Sanford Panitch, said at the press event for
Running Man that development is currently underway for the Hollywood version of
The Yellow Sea and that they are looking for a script writer.
The company which produced I Am Legend will be in charge. The Yellow Sea opened in 2010 and drew 2 million spectators. 20th Century Fox funded a bulk of the film's 10,000 million won budget before production. Fox is also in charge of the Hollywood re-make. FIP is a global production arm of 20th Century Fox that was set up in 2008 which looks after the funding, producing and distributing local language productions.
