How to Steal a Dog is based on a novel by Barbara O'CONNOR of the same title. It tells a story about a ten-year-old girl named Ji-so who lives in a car without a home. Her dream is to live happily in a home like everyone else. As luck would have it, the girl comes across a flyer that offers money for those who find their missing dog. The girl maps out a plan to steal a dog first and to return it for a reward. The target is ‘Wally’, the dog of her rich neighbor grandma.KIM Hye-ja will is back on screen after five years since Mother (2009) and as the owner of Wally. GANG Hye-jung, the heroine of director PARK Chan-wook’s Oldboy (2003) is also making a comeback to the screen after five years. On the other hand, child actor LEE Re will play the protagonist, the young girl with a dream. One more veteran actor will return to the screen by way of this film. CHOI Min-soo, a charismatic actor comes back after nine years of hiatus since Holiday (2005). CHOI will play a homeless man who becomes a mentor for Ji-so.KIM Sung-ho ho created a wonderful space with the elements of fantasies in this film as a director who majored in architecture. How to Steal a Dog will be a growing tale to children and a heart-warming fairy tale to adults.
