In the year of 1859, the Chosun Era is beset by all manners of natural disasters, poor harvest yields and widespread poverty, hunger and death. However, the rich nobles, comfortable in their luxurious nests, only concern themselves with their own wealth as they continue to exploit and persecute the poor. During this dark period, the band of thieves called Kundo act as the ray of light and hope for the poor. Following the murders of the poor butcher Dolmuchi’s mother and sister, the millionaire Jo-yoon commands absolute power over him. Filled with desire for revenge, Dolmuchi gains entry into Kundo. As part of the group, he unsheathes his sword for the weak.

Director YOON Jong-bin and star HA Jung-woo are teaming up again this summer for the period action blockbuster Kundo: Age of the Rampant. Joining them on screen will be GANG Dong-won, in his first screen role following his obligatory military service. YOON and HA have previously collaborated on The Unforgiven (2005), The Moonlight of Seoul (2008) and 2012’s Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time.
