17 Projects to Receive Support from ACF
The Asian Cinema Fund has announced the recipients of its 2019 grants, which will be given to 17 projects, out of a total of 3,687 submissions. The grants fall into three categories: Script Development Fund, Post-Production Fund, and Asian Network of Documentary (AND) Fund.
The three projects selected for the Script Development Fund were Rajesh Prasad KHATRI’s Black and White Photo from Nepal, Myriam EL HAJJ’s Commedia from Lebanon and the Kazakhstan-France co-production A Pair of Leather Clogs from Olga KOROTKO. Both Black and White Photo and A Pair of Leather Clogs are AFA (Asian Film Academy) Projects.
The ACF 2019 Post-Production Fund will support four projects in total, all of which will have their world premieres at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) this year. YUN Dan-bi’s Moving On and PARK Sun-joo’s Way Back Home (working title) from Korea, as well as the Japan and Hong Kong co-production The Murders of Oiso from MISAWA Takuya and Vijay JAYAPAL’s Indian project Nirvana Inn.
Finally, the ACF 2019 Asian Network of Documentary (AND) Fund will support ten project this year, six of which come from Korea. The local projects include OH Min-wook’s Letters to Buriram, LEE Il-ha’s MORE (working title), YANG Ju-yeon’s My Missing Aunt, Romani’s Life from KIM Tae-il and JU Ro-mi, PARK Hyuck-jee’s Speed of Happiness and Tomorrow Will Never Come by KIM Kyung-man. Children of the Mist by Vietnam’s HA Le Diem, the Lebanon and Germany co-production Embodied Chorus by Danielle DAVIE and Mohamed SABBAH, Nishtha JAIN’s The Golden Thread from India and CHEN Siyi’s Chinese-American co-production People’s Hospital (working title) complete the Asian projects.
