In 2001, a high school student named Gyeonghwan (male) transfers from Yeongcheon, Gyeongbuk to Suseong District, Daegu for his studies. Gyeonghwan is an otaku of Japanese culture. He discovers that Jaemin (male), the class president who sits next to him, is also a fan of Japanese culture and listens to Japanese music. Gradually, they become close friends. Jaemin quietly helps Gyeonghwan adapt to Suseong District and is always honest with him. Gyeonghwan falls in love with Jaemin and decides to share his secret, since Jaemin is also open with him. However, after Gyeonghwan confesses that he likes men, Jaemin begins to treat him coldly, and rumors about Gyeonghwan being queer start to spread at school.
