Action-Comedy Hit with PARK Seo-joon and KANG Ha-neul Goes Overseas

Midnight Runners is making a run for 12 global markets, kicking off this week with Indonesia (August 24) and North America (August 25), where it is being released by JBG Pictures. Starring popular faces
PARK Seo-jun and
KANG Ha-neul, the film has become one of the summer’s biggest hits, with 4.23 million admissions (USD 29.41 million) banked to date in its first 15 days. The film is currently ranked third at the local box office, closely shadowing the season’s biggest offering
A Taxi Driver.
Beyond this week, the film will open in Australia on August 31st and continue its run in markets such as New Zealand, Hong Kong, the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines and Vietnam in the coming weeks.
TV star PARK, known for dramas such as
Kill Me, Heal Me (2015) and
She Was Pretty (2015) and rising film star KANG of
DONGJU: The Portrait of a Poet (2016) and
New Trial, star as police academy recruits who witness a young woman being kidnapped during a night out on leave and put their novice sleuthing skills to the test when no else will help them solve the crime.
Midnight Runners marks the commercial filmmaking debut of
Jason KIM, who previously made the well regarded indie features
Goodbye My Smile (2010) and
Koala (2013). The film is being distributed and represented internationally by
Lotte Entertainment.
