- North Korea Action Thriller from THE ATTORNEY Director Due Out Later This YearKorean investor and distributor NEW (Next Entertainment World) reported that their incoming North Korea-themed action-thriller Steel Rain completed four months of shooting on June 8th. Director YANG Woo-suk’s follow-up to his smash hit political drama The Attorney (2013) features JUNG Woo-sung and KWAK Do-won in the lead.Steel Rain is based on a webcomic of the same name written by director YANG. JUNG stars as a former North Korean intelligence officer who teams up with a senior member of South Korean security services played by KWAK. Together they take on a secret mission in a bid to prevent the start of a new conflict between North Korea and South Korea.JUNG recently starred in Asura: The City of Madness last year and The King during this year’s Lunar New Year holiday while KWAK, who co-starred in Asura: The City of Madness, was the lead in NA Hong-jin’s critically-acclaimed horror smash THE WAILING. The film co-stars KIM Kap-soo (Blood and Ties, 2013), KIM Eui-sung (TRAIN TO BUSAN), LEE Gyoung-young (Inside Men, 2015), and more.Director YANG debuted to spectacular success when his film The Attorney, with SONG Kang-ho in the lead, attracted over 11 million viewers to theaters at the end of 2013.Steel Rain is expected to hit theaters later this year.
