French distributor ARP, Tucker Film of Italy and Contracorriente Films, scoping out rights for Spain and Andorra, were added to the list of the film’s buyers during the market. Earlier this year, Seoul Station was sold to North America, Japan, Austria, Benelux, Germany, Myanmar and Switzerland. YEON’s film has already gone on release in several countries where TRAIN TO BUSAN proved a hit with viewers, including Thailand (represented by Sahamongkolfilm), HK (Edko Films), Malaysia (Mega Films Distribution), Singapore (Clover Films) and Taiwan (Moviecloud).
The film’s success has also been evident on the film festival circuit, ever since its bow at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival. The film has screened at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival, served as the closing film of Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and picked up the Audience Awards for Best Animation from the Fantasia International Film Festival, among many other invitations.
Meanwhile, TRAIN TO BUSAN has already grossed well over USD 100 million around the world, scoring best ever Korean results in several international markets along the way.
