  • 17 Films on Show at French Film Festival

Following a recent showcase of his work at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York, Korea’s ace arthouse auteur HONG Sang-soo is currently attending yet another retrospective of his work, this time at the 27th edition of the Marseille International Film Festival.

HONG, whose last film Right Now, Wrong Then earned the Golden Leopard at the Locarno International Film Festival in August of last year, attended the opening ceremony of the FID Marseille on July 12th, during which he was awarded an honorary prize. The filmmaker remained in town until July 15th, as the festival screens all his 17 films, from The Day A Pig Fell Into A Well (1996) to Right Now, Wrong Then.

All the film was presented by Antoine Thirion, film critic and programmer and a former writer for French criticism magazine Cahiers du Cinéma.

The filmmaker currently has three more films in post-production, including Yourself and Yours, with KIM Joo-hyuk, a new project reuniting his Right Now, Wrong Then stars JUNG Jae-young and KIM Min-hee and a film he shot this spring in Cannes with Isabelle Huppert and KIM Min-hee.
