- HONG Sang-soo Reunites with Isabelle Huppert for 20th Film

Despite already having a pair of films in post-production, acclaimed auteur HONG Sang-soo is already back behind the camera. For his 20th feature production, the director is teaming up once again with French actress Isabelle Huppert, following 2012’s Cannes Competition selection In Another Country. What’s more, following Night And Day (2008), HONG is back filming in France, this time in Cannes, during the world’s most prestigious film festival.After working together for the first time, the Korean director and French star promised to do so again, and though details are scant, as is usual with the director ahead of release, it has been reported that Huppert will play a high school teacher and writer. The film will also feature a pair of Korean actors working with HONG for the first time: JUNG Jin-young of Gangnam Blues (2015) and 1980s star CHANG Mi-hee, whose last film role was in KIM Ki-duk’s Dream (2008).Also appearing in the film will be KIM Min-hee, who starred in HONG’s Golden Leopard-winning Right Now, Wrong Then (2015), for which she won much acclaim, and is also in his upcoming 19th film. KIM is currently in Cannes for the Cannes Competition bow of PARK Chan-wook’s new film The Handmaiden, in which she stars.HONG has already visited Cannes seven times with his films, including three times in main competition, which was a record for a Korean filmmaker until fellow countryman PARK matched him this year.
