The viewing rate for Descendants of the Sun was over 30%, for the first time in 4 years since The Moon that Embraces the Sun. The online playing rights have been sold to iQiYi, a Chinese video streaming site, at USD 4.22 million, and Japanese copyrights at USD 1.76 million. In addition, the distribution rights have been sold to more than 30 countries including Taiwan, Thailand, UK, France, USA and Australia.

N.E.W. began as a film investment and distribution company in 2008, and grew into a content distribution company that it is today. Their distribution list includes Miracle in Cell No.7 (2013), The Attorney (2013) and Cold Eyes (2013), and they established HUACE&NEW last year with Chinese Huace Media, stepping in the Chinese market.
