Genre Film Education Workshop to Take Place in Bucheon from 16—22 July
Supervised by NAFF, the Fantastic Film School will provide 24 pre-selected young Asian filmmakers with workshops and lectures such as genre film education seminars and team pitching instructions. Under the title of “Asian Filmmakers Lab,” the education program will be instructed by international industry professionals who will share the essential know-how with the participants.
According to the festival’s announcement, lectures on transmedia and storytelling will be taught by Producers' Guild of America's New Media Council vice president John HEINSEN, while Hawaii International Film Festival program director Anderson LE will be in charge of lectures on alternative distribution and screenings. Also joining the faculty are scriptwriter Vincent NGO, CEO of Convergence Entertainment Tim KWOK, and documentary director Alexandre PHILIPPE. Among the instructors, only Alexandre PHILIPPE is a first-time mentor in the film school program.
The 11-day long 19th edition of the festival will kick off in Bucheon City on July 16. NAFF-hosted project market It Project, and the Fantastic Film School will take place between 19—22 and 16—22 July, respectively.
