  • Contents Panda Sells Film to Major Asian Markets

According to Screen Daily on May 14th, Contents Panda, the newly set up sales arm of film investment and distributor NEW (Next Entertainment World) has successfully secured sales to major Asian markets for LEE Byoung-heon’s Twenty

After opening in domestic theaters earlier this year, the film was a hit and reached over three million admissions, grossing USD 21.5 million. With a strong cast of young actors, KIM Woo-bin, LEE Jun-ho and KANG Ha-nuel, the comedy drew many fans to its story of life for three best friends as they face the tribulations of growing up.

The film was sold to Japan’s NBC Universal Japan, Taiwan’s Movie Cloud, Hong Kong’s Deltamac, Singapore’s Clover Films, Malaysia’s Asia Tropical Films and Vietnam’s Lotte Cinema Vietnam, while in-flight rights went to Emphasis. Asian countries seem to have manifested more interest in the title, but the market at Cannes will continue to provide opportunities for more sales during the festival.
