KIM to Complete Shoot Ahead of PARK Chan-wook’s FINGERSMITH
HONG Sang-soo has set the leading cast for his upcoming 17th film. According to her agency Soop Management,
KIM Min-hee will work with the auteur for the first time alongside
JUNG Jae-young in the as yet untitled film. Shooting will begin in mid-January and is expected to wrap within 2-3 weeks. As always with HONG’s films, plot details were not revealed ahead of production.
2015 is shaping up to be an auspicious year for
Helpless (2012) and
Very Ordinary Couple (2013) star KIM Min-hee, who is also slated to appear alongside HA Jung-woo in
PARK Chan-wook’s
Fingersmith. PARK’s new film is expected to go into production at some point in the first half of the year.
JUNG Jae-young made his first appearance in a HONG film alongside
JUNG Yu-mi and LEE Sun-kyun in 2013’s
Our Sunhi. Last year he appeared in the romantic comedy
Plan Man, the revenge thriller
Broken and the hit period film
The Fatal Encounter alongside HYUN Bin.
Meanwhile HONG’s most recent film
Hill of Freedom debuted at the Locarno International Film Festival last year before serving as the opening film of the Venice International Film Festival’s Orizzonti Competition. Featuring
MOON So-ri and Japanese star KASE Ryo, the film has been invited to a dozen prominent international events.
