Searing Debut Nabs FILMAX Award

YEUN Sang-ho’s debut animation The King of Pigs continues to blaze a trail on the international festival circuit, having just picked up another accolade. This most recent prize is the FILMAX Special Award from the Anirmau Animation Film Festival in Spain. The festival’s top prize went to the US production It’s Such a Beautiful Day.

The King of Pigs, one of seven films in the festival’s main competition, is a gritty and uncompromising look at bullying in the South Korean high school system. Following its premiere at the 16th Busan International Film Festival in 2011, YEUN’s first feature has screened at dozens of international events, winning multiple award in the process.

The Anirmau Animation Film Festival took off on April 8th and completed its 2013 edition on April 13th.
