Interstellar has finished its IMAX run on the 2nd of December, but the film is still going strong. It’s been running at a faster pace than Frozen which also saw great success in the Korean film market. During the 4th week of its release, Interstellar drew 900,000 admissions on the weekend alone. This means that Nolan’s film beat the winter animation in its 4th week with eight million viewers while Frozen was only at seven million during its 5th week. The film has already reached the highest score for a Nolan film in Korea, and if it goes over 10.3 million, it’ll be the most successful foreign film of the year, surpassing Frozen.

In the ancillary market’s IPTV section, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes took the top spot for the second straight week, with 65,275 views according to the Korean Film Council’s Integrated Ticket Sales Network (KOBIS). The second place was taken by Tazza – The Hidden Card, the same spot as the previous week. New on the list at number three was We Are Brothers by JANG Jin. It was released in theatres on October 23rd, and was released on IPTV on the 20th of November. Fourth place was Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy followed by The Pirates in fifth, Scarlet Innocence, Slow Video, Whistle Blower, My Love My Bride and The Hunger Game: Catching Fire followed in sequence.
