CHO Min-soo Picks up People’s Choice Award for Favorite Actress

Triumphs at 7th Asian Film Awards

The female star of KIM Ki-duk’s popular festival hit Pieta, CHO Min-soo, has been honored with the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Actress during Monday night’s 7th Asian Film Awards (AFAs). The Chinese film Mystery took home the top award of the night, which also featured Eungyo actress KIM Go-eun as a presenter.

CHO has been nominated at a number of events for her role in KIM’s hard-hitting arthouse film, including the Asia Pacific Screen Awards and the Blue Dragon Awards. She also won Best Actress at both the Daejong Grand Bell Awards and the Korea Association of Film Critics Awards.

The AFAs are staged by the Hong Kong Development and Trade Council (HKTDC), which is also responsible for the Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) and the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART).
