Welcome to Dongmakgol, an $8m feature set during the Korean War, wrapped up six months of production on March 11. The film, based on a story by director/playwright JANG Jin, is set in a remote mountain village, where soldiers from the South Korean, North Korean, and US armies all end up staying together. To be distributed by Showbox, the film marks the feature debut of PARK Kwang-hyun, who has become well established in the commercials industry and who directed the short film My Nike in the omnibus project No Comment. SHIN Ha-kyun (Save the Green Planet), JEONG Jae-young (Silmido), and KANG Hye-jeong (Old Boy) all star. CG effects and post production are scheduled to take five months to complete, and the film is being targeted for an August release. Darcy Paquet
