JUNG Woo-sung in John Woo-produced blockbuster

JUNG Woo-sung is appearing alongside Michelle Yeoh (Memoirs of a Geisha 2005) in new martial arts action flick Reign of Assassins. The high-profile film is produced by John Woo and directed by Taiwanese film maker Chao-Bin Su.
JUNG stars alongside Yeoh, a crack assassin, who is charged with taking the remains of a renowned monk to their final resting place.  However, on her tail are a group of additional assassins who also want to get their hands on the remains to discover an ancient power.  Both Yeoh and JUNG’s character must work together to save the remains and their powerful secret.

Both stars are high profile actors – Malaysian born Yeoh starred in the The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008), was a Bond girl in Tomorrow Never Dies (2007), has appeared in numerous Chinese language films and was even a former Miss Malaysia winner.  This is her first martial arts film in 10 years since the Oscar winning Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (2000).  JUNG for his part played alongside fellow Korean acting A listers SONG Kang-ho and LEE Byung-hun in KIM Jee-woon’s blockbuster, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.  He also appeared in HUR Jin-ho’s A Good Rain Knows (2009), his first English speaking role, Mutt Boy (2003), the decade defining Beat (1997) and is even slated to appear in a up and coming Guinness TV commercial.

John Woo also recently acted as producer on the Korean remake of his 1986 blockbuster Hong Kong gangster hit A Better Tomorrow. The film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival and opens in Korea October 14.
