CJ Entertainment Invests the Production of Webcomics

Business Agreement with PANORAMA Entertainment to Produce Global Webcomics

A lot of Korean webcomics will be produced for the overseas markets. The official of PANORAMA Entertainment, a transmedia company, said that they would begin to produce webcomics on a large scale in collaboration with CJ Entertainment to find out original contents.

Two companies made a strategic business agreement on February 3rd, 2017. This agreement was issued from their mutual consent to estimate webcomics’ possibility as an original content in the global market.

PANORAMA Entertainment will proceed the transmedia project to produce webcomics and to use their IPs through the company’s professional studios, while CJ Entertainment will invest strategically in the project.

Two companies plan to produce more than 40 series of webcomics to advance into global markets, and the webcomics are expected to be published through specialized webcomics platform COMICA, subsidiary of PANORAMA Entertainment.

PANORAMA Entertainment has successfully launched their COMICA platform in Southeast Asia region including Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore since last year. Recently, it continues to make steady progress like selling 13 webcomics to Tencent through Chinese game company ChangMica.
