A Horror Flick Co-directed by Korea’s KIM HAN Jung-ho and US director Dave SILBERMAN
Korea-USA co-production Dead Again started production in Korea’s Gwangmyeong city on 8 August. The shooting took place in the Gwangmyeong Cave, where a 2014 Korean film Tunnel 3D was shot.
Dead Again is a horror film about mental destruction of a man who uses an evil power to restore his dead lover to life. The film is produced by Korea’s 8comm, while directorial duties are co-handled by Korea’s KIM Jung-ho (a.k.a. KIM HAN Jung-ho) and US director Dave SILBERMAN.
KIM previously directed The Show (2003) and awards-winning independent title A Fresh Girl (2010) which received its theatrical release 4 years after showing in festivals. SILBERMAN is a first-time director.
K-pop idol boy band ZE:A’s KIM Dong-jun plays the lead role. “I was attracted to the character, Jeong-hoon, who even takes the most terrifying risk for his lover,” said KIM. KIM played a supporting role in 2012’s A Company Man. Jeong-hoon in Dead Again is the first lead character that KIM plays in a feature film.
In addition to the K-pop singer, Dead Again also features actress JOO Da-young (Pure Love, 2015) and veteran actor LEE Min-woo (Hill of Freedom, 2014). JOO’s role is Jeong-hoon’s dead girlfriend Hye-in, while LEE is playing the leader of the serial killer group.
The film is currently aiming to hit cinema in both Korea and the US in the second half of 2016.
