Commercial Debut for Director KIM Tae-yong

Top star KIM Ha-neul has chosen her next film project, which will be Female Teacher (literal translation), the commercial debut of director KIM Tae-yong (not to be confused with the Late Autumn [2010] filmmaker of the same name). The film will follow the destiny of two female teachers, including Hyo-joo, who will be played by KIM, while her junior colleague has yet to be cast.

Popular star KIM, of My Tutor Friend (2004) and My Girlfriend Is an Agent (2009) fame, has not been seen on the big screen since her pair of 2011 films, Blind and You’re My Pet. However, she has a pair of films in post-production which are expected this year, the romantic thriller Remember Me (working title) alongside JUNG Woo-sung, and the China-Korea co-production Making Family.

Director KIM helmed one half of the film One Night Only with KIMJHO Gwang-soo before making his debut with the independent feature Set Me Free, which debuted at the Busan International Film Festival last year.

Once casting has been finalized, filming for Female Teacher, which will be financed and distributed by CJ Entertainment, is expected to begin during the summer.
