Director KWAK Kyung-taek began shooting Friend 2, the sequel of his box office hit, Friend. Friend 2 will portray the story of three good-for-nothings in 1963 and 2010.  KWAK takes directing duties on the sequel after having helmed the first film. YOO Oh-seong plays Joon-suk. JOO Jin-mo plays LEE Cheol-ju, Jun-suk’s father and a good-for-nothing who was very active in the 1960s. New actor KIM Woo-bin plays Sung-hoon, hidden son of Dong-su (JANG Dong-gun) from the first film.

The first part of the filming was done at Yeongdeungpo Prison on May 6th. “I love Friend very much. So, I am very honored to act in its sequel,” KIM said. “I will do my best although I am not perfect as an actor.” “Friend made me what I am today,” KWAK said. “I feel I am in my hometown as I film the sequel. I will do my best to make a good film.” Friend 2 will premiere in the second half of this year.
