Director Hur Jin-ho’s A Normal Family has been named one of Variety’s “10 Best Films of 2025 (So Far),” the film’s production company Hive Media Corp. announced on the 30th.

Variety selected the most outstanding films screened in North America during the first half of the year, and A Normal Family was the only Korean film to make the list.

Based on Dutch author Herman Koch’s best-selling novel The Dinner, the thriller portrays the psychological unraveling of two upper-class couples as they are forced to confront their children's criminal acts. The cast includes Sul Kyung-gu, Jang Dong-gun, Kim Hee-ae, and Claudia Kim (Soo-hyun).

Variety described the film as “a tense and morally wrenching drama,” adding, “It’s bound to grab viewers from the very first scene.”

In addition to A Normal Family, the list of the “10 Best Films of 2025 (So Far)” includes Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, 28 Years Later, Sinners, Bring Her Back, and Black Bag, among others.
