BOGOTA with SONG Joong-ki and LEE Hee-joon Resumes Filming in Korea
Remaining Colombian Shoot Still in the Air Owing to Covid-19
The upcoming film Bogota with SONG Joong-ki and LEE Hee-joon is set to resume filming in Korea at the end of the month. From The Unfair (2015) director KIM Sung-je, the film initially began location filming in Colombia early last year but was forced to halt production in March 2020 owing to the spread of Covid-19.
At that time, 40% of the film had been shot and later some interiors were filmed in Korea, but the rest of the project remained in limbo owing to the pandemic conditions in the South American country.
The Korean shoot will last until June and the production had initially hoped to return to Colombia in July but whether the location shoot can resume remains unclear. The production is considering several options in the event that filming Colombia continues to be impossible, including waiting for the situation to improve to shoot some scenes that must be captured on location.
Meanwhile, SONG has been very visible this year in both the space action-drama Space Sweepers and the mafia-tinged K-drama Vincenzo, both available on Netflix. LEE Hee-jun is currently starring in the tvN series Mouse. LEE cameoed alongside SONG in Vincenzo in the show’s opening episode earlier this year.
Bogota is a crime thriller that follows two young Korean men who travel to the Colombian capital in the 1990s where they settle in a traditional market.
