Richard ARMITAGE Joins Space Dream which Began Production on July 3

JO Sung-hee’s fourth film, the big-budget space drama Victory (translated title), entered production on July 3. SONG Joong-ki, KIM Tae-ri, JIN Seon-kyu and YOO Hae-jin lead the cast, which will also feature British actor Richard ARMITAGE.

Plot details are still few, but Victory has been gathering a lot of attention both for its star casting and the fact that it will be Korea’s first ever big-budget space drama.

Victory will mark SONG’s return to the big screen following RYOO Seung-wan’s The Battleship Island in 2017. The superstar has recently been in the news following reports of his divorce from fellow actor SONG Hye-kyo. The Handmaiden (2016) star KIM was last seen in the popular youth drama Little Forest (2018).

Star of THE OUTLAWS (2017), JIN was recently seen in Long Live the King, while A Taxi Driver (2017) star YOO will be back in theaters next month in the war drama The Battle: Roar to Victory.

A 20-year veteran of the big screen, ARMITAGE is perhaps best known for his role as Thorin Oakenshield in Peter JACKSON’s trilogy of The Hobbit movies, among many other big screen credits.

Director JO debuted in 2011 with the Korean Academy of Film Arts graduation project End of Animal and went on to score at the box office with the hit A Werewolf Boy (2012), also with SONG in the lead. He also made the slick procedural The Phantom Detective (2016).
