The Highest Cumulative Views among Foreign Animated Series on China’s Online Video Platforms

Mini Force has reached 3.5 billion cumulative views on China’s online video platforms.
On July 13th, SAMG Animation said Mini Force, which has been shown on nine video platforms in China including Youku, Tencent, iQIYI and LeTV since March last year, has surpassed 1 billion hits in four months and has recorded 3.5 billion cumulative views in 16 months. It has the highest number of views among foreign animated series in China and is currently in second-place overall when also including Chinese animated series.
After the THAAD conflict between the two countries, Korean dramas began encountering difficulty in entering the Chinese market, but Korean animations are constantly doing well. Previously popular cartoon series, Pororo the Little Penguin and Robocar Poli are also loved by Chinese fans.
Debuting September 2014 on EBS, local 3D animation series Mini Force is about a secret team tasked with protecting the animal world. The members of Mini Force work to defeat villains that prey on small and weak animals. A total of 52 episodes, about 13-minutes each, have been produced already. It was a huge hit domestically causing for a theatrical release of the series which came in early 2016. The production company is working on producing its second season for a 2018 release.
