HA Jung-woo and KIM Byung-woo Back for NK Rescue Thriller
PMC, which stands for private military company, focuses on a group of military contractors that must rescue a prisoner who is being held in an underground bunker during a period of escalating tensions between North and South Korea.
HA, who plays one of the mercenaries, has been with the project since it was in development. He is currently shooting the political drama
1987 and will be seen later this year in the big-budget fantasy
Along with the Gods Part 1. Last year he starred in both the disaster drama
Tunnel (2016) and
PARK Chan-wook’s
The Handmaiden (2016).
LEE, who recently joined the project, will take on the role of a doctor in
PMC. He was seen earlier this year in period investigation comedy
The King’s Case Note and will next appear in the gang drama
A Special Lady.
Released at the height of summer in 2013 on the same day as
BONG Joon-ho’s
Snowpiercer, director KIM’s previous work
The Terror, LIVE was an unexpected success. It went on to accrue 5.58 million admissions. KIM previously made the low-budget films
Anamorphic (2003) and
Written (2008).
