Programming Team Expanded for 21st Edition

The 21st edition of
Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BiFan) is just around the corner and preparations are heating up with the announcement of a trio of new programmers to help pull together this year’s program alongside festival director
CHOI Yong-bae. KIM Bong-seok, MO Eun-young and MOON Seok have joined the BiFan team for their 2017 edition.
KIM Bong-seok, who has worked on the culture desk of the newspaper The Hankyoreh, was a journalist for several film magazines such as Cinephile and Cine21, as well as the editor-in-chief of
KT&G SangsangMadang's monthly magazine BRűT and comic book webzine Acomics.
Following her work as a writer for
EBS movie programs
Cinema Paradiso and
AniTopia, MO Eun-young became involved with the
Korean Film Archive (KOFA) Cinematheque for nine years as a programmer. She also assisted director of
KIM Tae-yong in his reenactment project of the silent Korean classic
Crossroads of Youth (1934), which has travelled around the world, playing at major cultural events.
Meanwhile, MOON Seok was appointed as the new programmer of BiFan's comprehensive film industry program, B.I.G, the BiFan Industry Gathering. MOON was a reporter on the culture desk of the Joongang Daily and went on to hold the post of editor-in-chief at Cine21. More recently, he served as chief manager of Funding 21 and worked in film acquisitions for the distribution company CINE LUX.
The trio joins existing programmers
KIM Ellen Y.D. and Jong-suk Thomas NAM. They will put together a diverse program for BiFan’s 21st edition in July.
