Jeonju Studio Complex in Operation for 689 Days, a National Record

In 2015, Jeonju attracted 59 films for providing shooting locations, which is an all time record. In addition, Jeonju Studio Complex was in operation for 689 days last year, which is a national record.

Since its opening in 2008 with 48 films shot and 443 operation days, Jeonju Studio Complex has constantly increased the number of films and days of operation, and since 2011, it has never gone below 50 films annually.

This year, the schedule is already filled up for 215 days, which is 44% of the overall annual operation plan of 490 days. Among the films shot in Jeonju are Secretly Greatly (2013) featuring KIM Soo-hyun and directed by JANG Cheol-soo (Bedevilled, 2010), and The Face Reader (2013) featuring SONG Kang-ho and directed by HAN Jae-rim (The Show Must Go On, 2007).

Jeonju Studio Complex is also home to The Tiger by PARK Hoon-jung released in December 2015, and Time Renegade by KWAK Jae-yong and Missing by E.Oni to be released this year.

This year, A Murderer’s Guide to Memorization based on KIM Young-ha’s novel with the same title and Your Name is Rose featuring YOO Ho-jeong and PARK Sung-woong are currently being made in the studios, with Night of Seven Years by CHOO Chang-min getting ready for production.

Jeonju Film Commission announced that the schedule for the first quarter is already fully booked up due to the heavy demands by domestic film production companies.
