Chasing Hemingway starring Korean actress
HAN Bo-reum as a leading role, opened nationwide in China on November 20th.
Chasing Hemingway is about a man in his 40s dreaming of a death and a terminally ill woman in her 20s interacting and falling in love through American novelist Hemingway. The film was co-produced by three major film companies including Beijing Dongfang Lanyue Media Co.,Ltd, and distributed by one of China’s top three distributors, Huaxia Film Distribution Co.,Ltd. It accrued CNY 167,000 as of November 30th at the Chinese box office.
Also, Chasing Hemingway was invited to one of the Chinese biggest film fests, China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival, along with Hong Kong Film Awards and Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival. HAN Bo-reum, main actor GAO Shuguang and director XU Cheng were invited to the 24th edition of the festival which took place in China’s Jilin Province on September 19th, attending press conference and interviews.
HAN Bo-reum debuted through TV series
Dream High (2011) and continued on to mostly small screen like
The Master’s Sun (2013) and
Modern Farmer (2014). Also, She starred in
Sunday Punch (2011) and
Queen of the Night (2013).
In addition, HAN Bo-reum made her Chinese debut through horror thriller
Death Trip released on May 15th this year. The film is about a couple traveling in Malaysia, then meeting a hitchhiker Mi-yeon (HAN Bo-reum) and getting involved in a terrible murder case. It was screened at the 19th
Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and grossed CNY 8.53 million.
