Production Company Purple Cats Film announced on January 19th that actresses YOUN Yuh-jung and KIM Go-eun have confirmed their participation in Gye-choon-hal-mang (working title), which translates to Grandma Gye-choon.

YOUN, a stellar actress who has roamed both the big and small screens for many years, will be playing the role of the grandmother. Gye-choon lives in Jeju Island and makes a living as a diver by collecting shellfish. Due to an unfortunate incident, Gye-choon loses her young granddaughter Hye-ji (played by KIM Go-eun), who grows up with hurtful memories. Ten years after the incident, the two women are miraculously reunited, soaked in tears of happiness.

Both actresses had a busy year last year, and have new releases coming up. Actress KIM Go-eun, who was praised for Eungyo (2012), has three titles on her slate including Memories of the Sword, Coin Locker Girl and Angry Lawyer (working title). On the other hand, YOUN will star in romantic melodrama Salute d’Amore (working title) as the female protagonist, partnering up with PARK Keun-hyong.
