Kyung-hee, a beauty salon owner, develops dementia. Her son Ji-wook, the author of the self-help book The Power of Truth, helps her with her treatment and comes face to face with memories of his father, who disappeared as a child. One day, Ji-wook's uncle, a pastor named Joong-myung, appears before Kyung-hee, claiming to find his brother's whereabouts. Between Joong-myung's threats and Kyung-hee's dementia, Ji-wook's peaceful life becomes a labyrinth. "Mother's Kingdom" is the feature debut of director LEE Sang-hak. The mystery that underpins the film is the reconstruction of memories surrounding the disappearance of his father as a child. The mother's memories, which are disappearing due to dementia, and the memories of the past, which are concealed by the mother, radiate in opposite directions, creating tension. The actors deliver a nervous, obsessive ensemble that is perfect for a psychological thriller.
